Tamper-resistant (TR) receptacles are designed to prevent unwanted objects from being inserted, ensuring a child safety feature. These receptacles only accept proper plugs inserted at the right angle to enter the receptacle.

These receptacles are suitable for use in residential areas, such as homes, apartments, and condominiums. The break-off tab provides a controlled outlet for use with a switch or other controller, such as a motion sensor.

The installation process is user-friendly, thanks to the shallow body design that allows the device and wires to fit easily into the junction box. To achieve the best fit and color match, these receptacles are compatible with ENERLITES wall plates, with part numbers 8821-W for the standard size, 8821M-W for the mid-size, and 8821O-W for the oversize.
